More information
An E-Learning Designer is responsible for the creation, maintenance and development of online learning and tuition software.
Qualifications
Most E-Learning Designers will come from a highly technical background, and they will often have degrees or diplomas in IT-related fields. Ideal candidates can demonstrate a rich history of delivering both IT projects and training, and some recruitment agencies will be looking for qualifications in both areas. Applicants should be proficient in a number of design packages, including Flash, Illustrator, Captivate, Lectora and Photoshop. This role calls for a great communicator with the ability to listen to feedback in order to continually improve training systems.
Employers
Employment as an E-Learning Designer can be found with a number of leading design agencies; however, it is becoming common for large, national companies to employ their own Designers. The job will involve communicating with senior management and general staff, so successful applicants will be able to balance the needs of both parties with diplomacy and skill. Much of this work is done without supervision, so candidates will need to demonstrate a history of pro-activity and self-motivation.
E-Learning Designer pay
Depending on the size of the organisation and the candidate's specialist skills, the role of an E-Learning Designer will attract a salary of between £30,000 and £40,000.
