More information
Heating Engineers are required to perform a number of tasks such as changing boilers, installing central heating systems, and other similar activities. A typical applicant would not require an extensive formal education, as practical skills are the most crucial here, but employers may look for an NVQ in Heating and Ventilation as a minimum level of training.
Recruitment agencies tend to look for applicants who have exhibited a passion for engineering through apprenticeships and work experience - as well as a suitable 'can-do' attitude. Employers will generally demand that staff have all of the required training and certifications in order to ensure that they are familiar with all of the health and safety rules that surround the Engineering Industry. Roles will sometimes be temporary, but most often advertised jobs are for permanent positions.
